Milestones galore!

When I walked into the nursery yesterday, guess who was standing up with a ****-eating grin on her face!  She was so proud of herself! She also pulled herself up onto the hearth yesterday and has been known to hold onto it and walk down the length of it.  She stood in her little bathtub yesterday, holding on to the sides.  She can take her walker back into the laundry room too.  Busy, busy, busy...discovering things that were under her nose the whole time!  In her room yesterday - discovered box of clothes and started pulling them out.  She can drink from a straw in a juice box too!  Holding it all by herself!

My baby cut her first tooth!

Very exciting.  She is almost 9 months old.  No wonder she's been rolling her tongue to the spot for a few days.  I was wondering why she was doing that.  She started crawling big time about a month ago and she is sitting up with no problems.  Loves exercising her lungs too with loud high pitched shreiks!  Very cute!  I just realized that I hadn't mentioned these important things.  Good thing I have this blog cause I don't know where I'd write this down...

Going to the Bridgewater Mall with my baby...

...was fun!  Met a friend for lunch at McCormick & Schmick's - wheeled my baby around in her Snap and Go and went to the jewelers, and finally Gymboree!  Dang those clothes are cute.  But SO expensive!  Still fun to browse and did pick up a few things!  Just can't help it!  Cute little Christmas jammies with matching stocking cap.  Way cute.  Little angel is sleeping right now while we make dinner.  Better eat soon before she gets up!

Beautiful sunset tonight.  Watching it with my baby...The leaves are almost off the trees now so you can see the resevoir pretty well.  It's getting colder out.  Winter is on the horizon.  Tomorrow - I go into work!  I hate being away from my baby.  They tell me that eventually I will want to but for right now - I don't.  TTFN.

Is there anybody...OUT THERE...

Helloo!  Feeling a bit cut off right now.  Elizabeth came to watch the baby today so got alot done. I'm feeling much more "in control"!  Ready for the weekend.  The key is to constantly be doing something, even if it's something small - then, before you know - you get a few little projects done - whew!  Feels good....

Peek-a-boo

A few days ago, without warning, while changing my baby, she grabbed a blanket and put it over her face and in a few seconds she yanked it down...peek-a-boo!  All by herself, I think!  I didn't really focus on teaching that to her.  Someone may have taught her but it wasn't me!

Is it Tuesday? I'm not sure anymore...

I never know what day of the week it is - definitely not the actual date.  I'm working from home and I am living in a time-capsule.  I have a caregiver coming in now, so that is different.  She's very helpful.  Her name is Elizabeth and she is Polish.  The reason I know this is because we were giving my angel her bath and I was telling Elizabeth...so first we start with the face and then work our way down and we leave the "peepsha" for last....and she was like "peepsha"?  Are you Polish?  I was like...no...that's a nickname that my Polish partner made up for that body part...and Elizabeth said "Oh!  I'm Polish!"...and there you go...

Wow - it's been a while since I blogged...

...  How did a whole month and a half go by?  I went on vacation and then started working from home right after that.  It's taking a bit to get into the swing of but I'm getting there.  I have a woman coming on Thursday to watch my little angel.  The woman who came last Thursday didn't work out.  Hopefully the new person will be acceptable.  I'm not overprotective, I just think that the person watching a baby should have a little experience with babies!

All I can think about is vacation...and my little baby...

She will be experiencing the ocean and the sand for the first time!  Very exciting.  Looking forward to my first family vacation.

You mean I'm not the only blogger?

I just shared with my sister's friend that I started a blog about going back to work after baby and found out that she wrote a blog for a year that I didn't even know about!  All about her struggles becoming a mom through fertility treatments.  I feel so blessed that ours was relatively quick.  Thank you God for all your blessings!  I do not take them for granted!

Motherhood is making my mind mush...

There's some aliteration for you folks...

Singing to baby at 5 am.

Baby got up at 12 midnight for a lil' snack last night but dutifully went back to sleep after a half hour.  Then she got up again at 5am which is perfectly fine except after eating a little, she wanted nothing to do with nursing, the bottle, walking around, rocking in the rocker - nothing - didn't want to sleep or eat.  So I put her in the crib next to her crib toys so she could bat them around and have some fun.  Then turned on the musical mobile and rocked in my rocker until a few minutes later she fell asleep.  Gotta love a baby who self-soothes!  Well, I love her anyway...my angel.

Getting off of the elevator can be hazardous to your health...

Pet Peeve of the Day:

When the elevator door opens and there are people trying to get out - please let them get out before you rush to get on!  It's just common courtesy!  

Wasted days and wasted nights...

With the current atmospheric conditions being what they are - extremely hot outside and extremely cold in the office - it should be raining in the doorway between the two.

Summertime traffic is divine.

Love the lack of major traffic on the way into work in the morning.  It's an easy way to ease back into the work day.

Lilith is lovely

Great time at Lilith Fair at PNC Art Center on Saturday, July 31st.  Evening was not too warm.  Indigo Girls and Sarah McLaughlin were great.  Great seats under the amphitheater roof.  Only bad thing - missed my little munchkin (first time out for moms since she was born over four months ago!)  Looked at her pictures and videos all night...pathetic!

Going back to work after baby...

I went back to work today for the first time since giving birth to my daughter, Stella, on March 18th.  I must say that it is not as awful as I thought it would be.  My mother is taking very good care of Stella and has been calling in regularly with updates.  Stella seems calm and happy with her and I am glad.
